KOHLER, Wis. – The Edgewood College men's golf team is through two rounds of the NACC Championships. The Eagles are tied for fourth place after completing the first two rounds at Blackwolf Run Meadows Valley Golf Course. Raymond Jordan leads the Eagles, sitting in a tie for 12th place.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The NACC Championships is an event that is split between the fall and spring season. After the first two rounds, Edgewood College (648) is tied with Benedictine and trails St. Norbert (604) and Aurora (593). The Eagles moved up the leaderboard in round two, improving by 18 strokes on Monday.
- Jordan led the Eagles pack to finish the first two rounds in a tie for 12th place. His best round came on Sunday, a 79 that featured two birdies. On Monday, Jordan carded an 81, comprised of four birdies, three coming on the front nine.
- Sam Hjortland posted a two-round score of 162 to finish in a tie for 12th in his first NACC Championship rounds. Hjortland improved with an 80 on Monday. His best round featuring three birdies.
- Charlie Huerth matched Hjortland with a 162 after two rounds of competition. Huerth improved by six strokes on Monday.
- Peter Haideman strung together rounds of 88 and 76 to sit in a tie for 22nd place. Haideman's two-round score of 164 featured 18 pars.
- Jacob Frederickson and Aidan O'Gara were the final Eagles to compete. Frederickson carded a 178 to finish in a tie for 44th place, while O'Gara notched a 181 to finish in 52nd place.
THE CHAMPIONSHIP
- Team leader Aurora (+17) has four Spartans in the top 10.
- Christian Wagner of St. Norbert leads the pack with a two-over par score of 146.
