PLYMOUTH, Wis. – The Edgewood College Eagles women's volleyball squad hit the road Saturday for more Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) action. They faced the Lakeland Muskies as they looked to keep their hot streak going. The Muskies (10-10, 5-3 NACC) had other ideas, putting together a strong 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-21) showing against the Eagles (14-6, 7-1 NACC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- A 7-2 run after being tied 8-8 gave Lakeland a big advantage in the first frame. A 4-0 Edgewood College response was erased by a 5-2 Muskies answer. The Eagles would not be deterred with a 6-2 rally tying the match at 22-22, but Lakeland closed the door with three unanswered for the match lead.
- Edgewood College started set two swinging with a 10-2 barrage featuring three kills from
Katie Borchert and a pair of aces from
Abbey Falk. The Muskies flipped the script in a big way as the Eagles struggled with errors, going on a 18-6 tear to put the hosts at a 20-16 advantage. A 4-1 reply pushed Edgewood College within one, but a 4-1 answer closed the door on the set in favor of the hosts.
- Once again, the Eagles came out hot with a 7-3 lead, but again Lakeland would not be denied as they evened the set with a 7-3 rally of their one. A 9-2 run pushed the Muskies to a 19-15 lead Edgewood College would be unable to overcome as Lakeland put together an impressive sweep.

Abigail Hoffmann tallied 10 kills, 12 assists, nine digs, and three blocks in the losing effort.
- Falk earned three aces and three blocks.
