Box Score CHICAGO, Ill. – The Edgewood College Women's Tennis team won four-of-six in singles play to remain undefeated with a 6-3 win over Illinois Institute of Technology on Sunday. The match was the third straight conference game, as the Eagles now own a NACC regular winning streak of 26.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College (5-0, 4-0 NACC) won two-of-three in doubles play. The No. 1 duo of Cecile Fuchs and Ally Verbauwhede remained perfect on the year by posting an 8-3 win.
- The No. 2 duo of Sydney Verbauwhede and Ellie Murphy earned their fourth win of the season with an 8-3 win to remain undefeated.
- Fuchs remains undefeated in her collegiate career as she won her No. 1 singles match with a convincing score of 6-1, 6-4.
- Sydney Verbauwhede is now 5-0 in singles play this year after a convincing 6-2, 6-1 victory in her No. 2 singles bout.
- Alyssa Carew took a convincing 6-2, 6-1 win in the No. 4 singles slot, while Ally Verbauwhede earned the tiebreaker win in the No. 3 singles slot with a 6-4, 2-6, 10-3 victory.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Eagles NACC winning streak is now at 26 as they haven't lost since the 2017-18 season. Edgewood College is now 4-0 in NACC matches this year.
