MADISON, Wis. – The Edgewood College Women's Volleyball team made quick work of Lakeland University with a 3-0 Senior Night win on Wednesday. The Eagles celebrated senior
Mackenzie Doherty before the match before the impressive NACC victory.
EAGLES 3, MUSKIES 0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-10)
- Doherty came out strong with five kills in a 25-15 first set win where the senior hit .400. She would finish the night with nine kills, tying for the team lead with
Abbey Falk.

Lea Bunch was on point with her serve throughout the match with a career-best six aces. Bunch also led the defensive effort with 13 digs, while Doherty added nine.
- The Eagles (17-9, 8-5 NACC) hit .255 as a team for the match, including .483 in the third and final set. Falk played a big part in that, finishing the night with a .692 attack percentage.
Hannah Siebert helped close the match out with four kills, while hitting .500, in the third set.

Taylor Salmon and
Abigail Hoffmann dished out 17 and 14 assists, respectively. Bunch added four assists as Edgewood College finished with 38 for the match.
- Falk also totaled four blocks, including one solo block during the contest.
Abbey Maier added seven kills, while
Amanda Carlson and Hoffmann chipped in with six each.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Despite the win, the Eagles didn't receive the help they needed to qualify for the six-team NACC Tournament. Edgewood College ended in a four-way tie for fifth place with Illinois Tech, MSOE, and Wisconsin Lutheran. The tiebreaker was record amongst those teams in matches against one another. MSOE and Illinois Tech advanced to the league tournament by going 2-1 in those matches, while the Eagles and Wisconsin Lutheran were 1-2.
- Doherty's nine kills bring her total to 1,259 for her career. She is currently fifth all time and still has a chance to move up one or two spots with two matches remaining in her impressive career.

- The Eagles do still have two more matches on their 2021 schedule this weekend at the Augustana College Pumpkin Bash on Saturday. Edgewood College will take on Coe College at 11 a.m. before playing host Augustana College at 1 p.m.
