MADISON, Wis. – The Edgewood College Women's Volleyball team battled Concordia University Chicago deep into a fifth set before coming up short 3-2 in their second to last regular season NACC contest. Despite the loss, Abbey Falk finished with a career-high mark and Mackenzie Doherty a double-double.
COUGARS 3, EAGLES 2 (23-25, 25-19, 24-26, 25-19, 15-13)
- The fifth set saw some strong volleyball with each team hitting over .290. Ultimately, Concordia Chicago (10-15, 3-9 NACC) outlasted Edgewood College (16-9, 7-5 NACC) 15-13 in the set behind .316 hitting.
- Falk finished with a career-best 14 kills in the five-set match. She added three blocks. Taylor Salmon led all players with 26 digs, while Abigail Hoffmann added 24.
- Mackenzie Doherty finished with her eighth double-double of the season for the Eagles, posting 20 kills and 16 digs. Lea Bunch finished the afternoon with a match-best 19 digs.
- The Eagles went into the fourth set up 2-1 but couldn't contain the Cougars offense, as they hit a match-high .333 with 15 kills. Edgewood College had saw their best offense come in the third set, as they recorded a .326 hitting percentage and outlasted the Cougars 26-24.
- The Eagles won the first set of the afternoon, 25-23, before dropping the second, 25-19. Concordia Chicago forced a fifth set with a 25-19 victory in the fourth.
