Eagles Season-Best Attack Leads to Sweep of Regents

MADISON, Wis. – The Edgewood College Women's Volleyball team had little trouble in securing a sweep over Rockford University in a NACC match inside the Todd Wehr Edgedome on Friday night. The Eagles hit a season-best .347 in picking up the 3-0 victory.

EAGLES 3, REGENTS 0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-14)
- Edgewood College (16-8, 7-4 NACC) started and ended the night with 25-14 set wins. In the opening set, the Eagles were firing on all cylinders as they hit .484 with 18 kills. They closed the night by hitting .347 with 18 more kills in the clinching set.

- In between those 25-14 wins was a little closer set where the Eagles won 25-20. The second set was tied 20-20 before Edgewood College score five-straight points to go up 2-0. Abbey Maier had two kills during the run as she finished the night with a team-high 9 kills and a .471 attack percentage.

- Amanda Carlson was dialed in, totaling eight kills and hitting .571 over two sets. Abbey Falk (six kills) hit .556, while Corrin Harrington (four kills) hit .571. Reagen Doherty and Lea Bunch each added two kills and hit .500 for the match.



- Taylor Salmon and Abigail Hoffmann oversaw setting the Eagles hitters up as the duo produced 23 and 16 assists, respectively. Hoffmann also benefited from plenty of Salmon's sets, finishing the match with seven kills and a .333 attack percentage.

- Bunch led the defensive efforts with 14 digs, while Hoffmann added eight. Harrington and Falk each had a solo block during the three-set win.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Eagles have hit over .300 four times this season and three of those have come in the team's last four matches. Edgewood College hit .306 in Tuesday's win over St. Norbert and .310 in last Friday's win at Dominican. The other .300-plus effort this season came in a 3-0 win over Lake Forest College on September 11.

- The Eagles are now in a four-way tie for fourth place in the NACC standings with two matches to go. MSOE and Illinois Tech are also 7-4, while one of Benedictine/St. Norbert will be 7-4 after their match goes final. As of this writing no final score could found.
