PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The Edgewood College Women's Volleyball team played a pair of matches at the UW-Platteville Invitational Friday. In the first match, the Eagles dropped a 3-1 decision against host UW-Platteville. The Eagles almost handed Olivet College its first loss in the second contest, but the Comets escaped with a 3-2 win.
UW-PLATTEVILLE 3, EDGEWOOD COLLEGE 1
- The Eagles (1-6) won the second set, 26-24, in the opening match against UW-Platteville. The Pioneers took the opening set, 25-14, the third set, 25-20, and the final set, 26-24.

Amanda Carlson totaled 10 kills in the match, the first double-digit kill match of her collegiate career. Carlson posted an impressive .400 attack percentage against the Pioneers.

Brittany Sager and
Taylor Salmon set up the Eagles hitters in the opener with 13 and 10 assists, respectively.
Sarah Uczen collected 16 digs in the match.
OLIVET 3, EDGEWOOD COLLEGE 2
- The Eagles came close to handing the Comets their first loss of the season, but ultimately fell in five sets. Edgewood College won the first (25-20) and third sets (25-11) with Olivet countering in sets two (25-14) and four (25-17). The Comets would win the tiebreaking fifth set, 15-10.
- Sager recorded a double-double in the nightcap, registering 22 assists and 17 digs. Uczen had another solid match with 23 digs, while
Kennedy Crain added 10 digs.

Mackenzie Doherty paced the Eagles attack with 11 kills. Carlson and
Bridget Daniels each added seven kills with Daniels posting a .400 attack percentage.
UP NEXT
- The Eagles will head to Iowa tomorrow to play two matches at Loras College. Edgewood College is set to battle Augsburg University at 4 p.m. and host Loras College at 6 p.m.
