Eagles set 3-point record in high-scoring Senior Day win

MADISON, Wis. – The Edgewood College Men's Basketball team had the Todd Wehr Edgedome rocking Saturday thanks to its 3-point shooting. The Eagles made 17 from deep, a new school record, in a 109-94 Senior Day win over the Regents. The Senior class had 12 of those makes from 3-point range.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles pulled away in the second half thanks to an 11-of-18 3-point performance after the break. Sy Staver, who finished with a team-best 21 points led the charge in making all five of his 3-pointers after the break.

- With the Eagles clinging to an 85-82 lead they pulled away after four-straight trips with made shots from distance. Senior Emil Radisevic had the first and last of the four-straight 3-pointers, while seniors McClain Steffens and Staver each added one as well. Radisevic ended the game with 18 points and Steffens added 10 as the Eagles had five players finish in double figures. The 3-point run late in the second half pushed the Eagles lead to 97-82.

- For the game, Edgewood College shot 60 percent (42-for-70) and 53.1 percent (17-for-32) from deep. Jake Negus poured in 20 points off the bench and Ben Seefeld added 15 as the Eagles reserves outscored the Regents bench, 49-21.

- Staver finished the game 5-for-6 from 3-point range and also dished out four assists. The Eagles had 28 assists, which is tied for the second-most in a game in program history. Steffens tallied eight assists and Negus and Seefeld each added four.

- Senior Jaden Lechelt sparked Edgewood College in the early goings by making a 3-point shot in his first career start. He would add another three late in the game, finishing the afternoon with six points. Senior Tyler Lemke added five points and three assists.

- The Eagles led 52-48 after the break, shooting 59.5 percent in the opening half. They had six 3-point makes before the break.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The 109 points marks the second time this season the Eagles have surpassed the century mark. Edgewood College scored 106 in an overtime win over Lakeland University on January 9.

- The five seniors (Staver, Steffens, Lemke, Radisevic, and Lechelt) were honored before the game. Staver (21), Radisevic (18), and Lechelt (6) all had season high scoring totals. Steffens eight assists were a season best as well.

THE OPPOSITION
- The Regents also had five finish in double figures, led by Kevin Diemer's 21 points and 11 rebounds.

- Edgewood College will host Aurora University in a NACC matchup Tuesday at 7 p.m.
