MEQUON, Wis. - With 11:15 to go, the Edgewood College Men's Basketball team trailed 54-46 after a close first half against Concordia University Wisconsin. From that point on it was all the Falcons, as they closed the game on a 25-13 run in a 79-59 NACC game Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles struggled in the final 10 minutes, scoring just 13 points over the final 9:45. For the game, Edgewood College shot 43.4 percent (26-of-60) and just 12.5 percent (2-of-16) from three-point range. The Falcons countered with a 55.5 percent (33-of-60) effort from the floor.
- Scoring started slow in the first half, as Edgewood College (1-5, 1-2 NACC) got on the board first off a layup from Ryan Buss with 18:28 on the clock. From then on it was a back-and-forth affair. Concordia Wisconsin (3-3, 3-1 NACC) jumped out to a 11-point lead (25-13) with just over nine minutes remaining in the half. The Eagles went into the break off a 19-9 run and pulled within two (34-32) of the Falcons.
- Eli Hartjes came off the bench and finished with a career-high 14 points and six rebounds through 18 minutes. Hartjes played a large part in the Eagles first-half run, scoring eight of 19 points for the Eagles. Ben Seefeld and Ryan Buss scored in double-figures, with 11 and 10 respectively.
- The Falcons got going in the second half, shooting 65.4 percent from the floor and 42.9 percent from beyond the arc.
- Jake Negus dished out seven assists on the afternoon and dropped eight points for the Eagles.
THE OPPOSITION
- Jordan Johnson led the Falcons with 19 points and seven rebounds. Joey Zietlow wasn't far behind with 18 points, adding five rebounds and two steals. Brandon Keller also finished in double-figures, with 14 points.
- Jared Jurss spread the ball well for the Falcons, finishing with a game-high eight assists.

- The Eagles will host Rockford next Saturday as part of a men's/women's doubleheader. Action will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the Todd Wehr Edgedome.
