LISLE, Ill. - With 9:09 to go, the Edgewood College Men's Basketball team pulled within four points (55-51) of Benedictine University with a strong shooting second half. From that point on Benedictine managed 22 points to 14 from Edgewood College. In the end, Edgewood College dropped their first conference game of the year 77-66.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College (1-4, 1-1 NACC) started off strong leading Benedictine University (7-1, 3-0 NACC) 8-2 through the first three minutes of the first half. The Benedictine offense finally found their spark going on a 22-0 run. Going into the break Edgewood College trailed Benedictine by 20 (44-24).
- Coming out of the break Edgewood College finally found their groove, shooting 57.7 percent from the field and 50 percent from beyond the arc in the second half. In addition, the Edgewood College defense limited the hot shooting of Benedictine to just 32 percent from the floor and 28 percent from three-point range.
- Ryan Buss paced Edgewood College with a career-high 22 points (9-of-11), while Ben Seefeld added 15 points and Jake Negus finished with 12 points. Buss was perfect from beyond the arc and from the charity stripe. The combination of Negus and Seefeld dominated the boards with nine and eight respectively.
THE OPPOSITION
- Mike Boatright helped Benedictine improve to 3-0 in NACC play with 20 points, six assists, and four steals. Three others finished in double-digits, as Kenny Bogus scored 18 points, Eric Grygo 15Â points, and Kyle Graebner 11 points. Grygo finished the night with eight rebounds and Bogus added seven of his own.

- Edgewood College will turn their attention to another NACC matchup on the road. Edgewood College will travel to Mequon, Wis. to take on Concordia University Wisconsin on Saturday. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m.
