HOW IT HAPPENED
- With the game tied at 20 midway through the opening half, the Eagles closed the half with a 34-9 run to take a 54-29 lead into the break. - Seefeld had 21 of his 33 in the first half, while Negus added 18.
Eli Hartjes provided a spark off the bench in the opening half with eight points as well. Hartjes finished with 10 points, the second time the sophomore has reached double figures in four games this season.
- In the second half, Concordia Chicago came out strong and cut the Eagles lead to 61-50, but Seefeld hit a couple of 3-point baskets over the next few trips to give Edgewood College a 69-54 advantage. Seefeld finished the game 7-of-9 from 3-point range and the 3-point field goals made ties an Eagles record of seven in a contest.
- Negus did a lot of his damage at the free throw line as he made 14-of-19. As a team, the Eagles shot 26-of-33 from the line, making 14 more free throws (26) than the Cougars attempted (12). In the first half, the Eagles had a 19-point advantage from the free throw line, making 19-of-22, while CUC was 0-for-4 before the break.
