MADISON, Wis. – The Edgewood College Women's Volleyball team split a pair of matches at a home triangular Saturday. The Eagles won the conference match, opening the day with a 3-0 win over Illinois Tech and moving to 4-1 in conference play. Edgewood College was later swept by Maranatha Baptist to close out the day.
EAGLES 3, ILLINOIS TECH 0
- The Eagles opened the day with a NACC sweep over the Scarlet Hawks. The closest set was a 25-21 win in the opener before the Eagles rolled 25-16, 25-17 to close out the match.
- Edgewood College featured a balanced attack and hit .243 during the win as five players tallied five or more kills.
Mackenzie Doherty led the way with 8 kills, while Seghen Northey and
Abbey Maier added seven each. Northey hit .636 during the win over Illinois Tech.
Kennedy Crain and
Ella Carpenter each added five kills.

Brittany Sager and
Taylor Salmon shared the duties of setting up the Eagles hitters with 15 assists each. Sager also led all players with four service aces.

Sarah Uczen and Crain each recorded eight digs.
MARANATHA BAPTIST 3, EAGLES 0
- The Eagles, who were playing for the third time in a 24-hour span (also played last night) may have ran out of gas against the Sabercats. Maranatha Baptist picked up set wins of 25-21, 25-17, 28-26 in the non-conference battle.
- Edgewood College had 12 service errors against Maranatha Baptist and saw its hitting percentage drop to .177.
- Sager dished out 26 assists in the match, several of those to Doherty, who led all players with 17 kills. Uczen recorded 17 digs.

- Edgewood College will visit Wisconsin Lutheran College to begin a busy week of NACC play. The Eagles and Warriors are set for a 7 p.m. start at the Recreation Complex on the campus of WLC in Milwaukee. It will be the first of three NACC matches next week for the Warriors.
