AURORA, Ill. – The Edgewood College Women's Volleyball team began a three-match weekend with two of those contests at the Aurora University Triangular Friday night. The Eagles opened with a 3-0 setback against Aurora in a NACC match, before falling 3-0 against UW-La Crosse in non-conference play.
AURORA 3, EDGEWOOD COLLEGE 0
- The Eagles (9-19, 6-4 NACC) couldn't get much going against the Spartans in the opener. Edgewood College hit just .067 for the match. The Spartans posted set wins of 25-18, 25-21, 25-10 to complete the NACC sweep.

Sarah Uczen tallied 16 digs for the Eagles with
Brittany Sager dishing out 13 assists.
- Aurora (19-8, 10-1 NACC) was led by Imani Freeman, who recorded a match-high 12 kills. Miranda Cada registered 28 assists for the Spartans, who finished the match with a .186 attack percentage.
UW-LA CROSSE 3, EDGEWOOD COLLEGE 0
- It was a battle of Eagles in the second contest with UW-La Crosse gaining the sweep. The first two sets went down to the wire (25-23, 25-22) before UW-La Crosse completed the sweep with a 25-18 win in the third set.
- Edgewood College played better when it came to attacking, hitting .126 in the second match.
Mackenzie Doherty led the way with 13 kills and a .257 hitting percentage. Sager and
Ella Carpenter helped set up the Edgewood College hitters with 15 and 12 assists, respectively.
- Uczen had another double-digit dig match with 14, while
Amanda Meister chipped in with 12.
- UW-La Crosse (14-12) received a 17-kill effort from Emma Lawrence. She hit .308 in the match with UW-La Crosse posting a .190 mark as a team. Abbey Fox handed out 24 assists for UWL.
UP NEXT
- It will be another battle of Eagles tomorrow for Edgewood College as it visits Benedictine University for a crucial NACC match. A win would all but secure a NACC Tournament for Edgewood College. The match is scheduled to start at noon in Lisle, Illinois.
