MADISON, Wis. - The Edgewood College Women's Volleyball team came away with their second NACC win in two days with a 3-1 (25-21, 25-20, 12-15, 25-20) win against Concordia Chicago on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles victory came behind 11 service aces and double-digit kills from Mackenzie Doherty and Abbey Maier.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College (8-14, 6-2 NACC) got off to a quick start, winning the first two sets 25-21 and 25-20. Maier and Doherty proved to be the difference in both sets, as the freshman recorded three kills in each set, while the Doherty recorded four kills in the second set win.
- The Eagles fell behind quickly in the third set, as eight service aces helped Concordia Chicago (9-15, 3-5 NACC) to a fast-paced 25-12 win.
- The explosive energy from the first two sets returned in set four, as the Eagles came away with the 25-20 win, highlighted by six kills from Doherty and five digs from Sarah Uczen.
- Overall, Doherty led the Eagles hitters with 18 kills, while Maier added 10 of her own. Brittany Sager recorded 18 digs, Sarah Uczen recorded nine digs, and Amanda Meister was close behind with eight digs.
- Once again the Eagles relied on expert serving to gain a critical edge in the match, as Uczen came away with a season-best four aces of her own, Meister added her season-best with three, and Sager was close behind with two.

- Edgewood College will look to improve their two-match winning streak in non-conference action on Thursday. The Eagles will head to Carroll University, where action is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
