MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Edgewood College Men's Basketball team continued to show second half strength for the second contest in a row, as the Eagles worked back from a 10 point first-half deficit, but ultimately dropped their fifth conference contest to MSOE. The Eagles comeback fell short, as the sharp shooting Raiders held on for an 81-77 win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College (3-10, 3-5 NACC) trailed 42-32 after the first half of action after being shut down by MSOE from outside the arc, only connecting with 2-of-8.
- With just under eight minutes remaining in the second half, a layup from McClain Steffens started the Eagles comeback. After coming within four points of the Raiders lead multiple times, a three-pointer and two-free throws from Jake Negus made the score 78-73 with just 41 seconds remaining.
- Despite a strong second half that featured 45.2 percent shooting, the Eagles were unable to tie up the contest.
- Strong free-throw shooting continued for the Eagles, dropping 25-of-26 for 96.2 percent from the line.
- Negus paced the Eagles with 20 points adding six rebounds, while Steffens added 17 points and Emil Radisevic connected on 5-of-10 for 16 points and pulled down five rebounds. Additionally, Sy Staver dominated the boards with a season-high eight assists.
THE OPPOSITION
- Sammy Linn helped the Raiders improve to 7-1 in NACC play with 17 points and nine rebounds. Three other Raiders scored in double digits, as Jake Gerbert finished with 16 points, Jason Palesse 12 points, and Travis Ballard 11 points. Palesse dished out a team-best eight assists as well.
- Off the bench the Raiders performed well, with 31 points. Additionally, MSOE put away 11 second chance points compared to just two for the Eagles.

- The Eagles turn their attention towards another NACC matchup on the road. Edgewood College will travel to Plymouth, Wis. to take on Lakeland University on Wednesday. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
