MADISON, Wis. – With 15:53 to go in the game, the Edgewood College Men's Basketball team trailed Benedictine University, 36-30, in NACC battle Wednesday night. From that point on it was all Edgewood College as a big second-half lifted them to a 70-52 win. The win was the second straight for Edgewood College and moved them to 2-1 in NACC play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After falling behind 36-30, Edgewood College scored nine straight points to go up 39-36, a run capped off by a 3-point make from
Ben Seefeld. Seefeld finished the game with 10 points, one of three Edgewood College players in double figures,
McClain Steffens (15) and
Sy Staver (14) the others.
- Edgewood College was on fire from 3-point range in the second half, making 8-of-12. Staver made both of his attempts from long range in the second half, while
Jacob Miller was 3-of-4. Steffens add a pair of 3-point makes to help Edgewood College pull away. Edgewood College also made 15-of-18 from the free throw line in the second half.
- The run that started after Edgewood College fell behind 36-30 ended up being a 22-2 run, resulting in a 52-38 lead for the home team. Edgewood College would go on to extend the lead to a game-high 21 points at 62-41 after Staver hit one of his two second-half 3-point baskets.
- The first three minutes seemed like it would be a disappointing night for Edgewood College as Benedictine burst out to an 11-2 lead. Edgewood College played well the rest of the way in the opening half and the game was tied, 25-25, heading into the break.
Matthew Myers and Seefeld each had seven points in the first half to keep Edgewood College in the game.
- Edgewood College finished the game shooting 46.7 percent (21-of-45) from the floor and it played well defensively, holding Benedictine to 33.3 percent (19-of-57) shooting.
- Steffens did most of his damage from the free throw line, making 9-of-10 as Edgewood College finished the game shooting 18-of-22 from the charity stripe.

Emil Radisevic led all players with 10 rebounds, while
Jake Negus added eight for Edgewood College, who finished the night with a 38-31 advantage on the boards.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The win was the second-straight for Edgewood College over the other Eagles of the NACC. Last season, Edgewood College won 73-62 in the regular season finale.
THE OPPOSITION
- Kyle Graebner led three Benedictine players in double figures with 11 points. Bryan Jakobsze and Michael Johnson each added 10 points.
