HOW IT HAPPENED

- Zach Hentrich and Dawson Hinz both shot matching even-par 72s in chilly, often drizzling conditions on the north shore of Lake Mendota. Hentrich and Hinz, along with Carthage's Alex Stewart, tied for second place out of 36 golfers.
- Nathan Gilbert was three shots back, finishing eighth with a score of 75. Jensen Peck was the fourth and final Eagle to break 80, shooting 79 to finish in 16th place.
- James Gandolph and Matt Tucker turned in matching scores of 81, while Alex Wedige was one shot back with an 82.
- Max Gardner shot 83 in his Edgewood College competitive debut, while Michael Wiebe rounded out the team with a 94.
FOR THE FOES
- Carthage College accounted for eight of the best 12 scores of the day, led by individual champion Matt Meneghetti, who shot a 2-under par 70. As a team, the Red Men shot 291, to defeat the Eagles by seven strokes.
- UW-Superior and MSOE placed third and fourth, with the Yellowjackets scoring 317 to edge MSOE by one stroke.
