SHERRARD, Ill. – A different course and windy conditions on the second day, led to higher scores for just about the whole field, and the Edgewood College men's golf team was no exception on day two of the Augustana College Invitational. The Eagles slipped from a tie for seventh after day one and settled into a 10th place finish.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College shot a strong 306 on the first day at Pinnacle C.C. led by Dawson Hinz's 72. Hinz and all the other Eagles would find Fyre Lake more difficult shooting an 80 to finish at 152.
- Zach Hentrich was three shots higher than Hinz on Friday, but three shots better on Saturday to tie with Hinz at 152 for 19th place.
- Alex Wedige had the Eagles other sub-80 round, shooting 78 on Friday and finishing with a score of 161.
- Michael Wiebe and James Gandolph rounded out the Eagles squad. Wiebe shot an 81 on Friday and finished with 168, while Gandolph scored an 82 at Pinnacle C.C. and ended the weekend at 172.
UP NEXT
- Edgewood College will battle for their sixth conference title, and fourth since 2010 at the third and fourth rounds of the NACC Championships on April 23 and 24 at Stonebridge C.C. in Aurora, Ill. The Eagles enter the final two rounds in fifth place, but only six shots behind the leaders in a tightly bunched race. The NACC champion will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championships.
