Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Titans pull away from Eagles in second half

OSHKOSH, Wis. – Junior Emil Radisevic scored eight of his season-high 16 points in a competitive first half, but the Edgewood College men's basketball team fell on the road to a tough UW-Oshkosh team, 78-66, after being outscored by 11 in the second half. The Eagles committed their fewest amount of turnovers (5) since January of 2011 against Maranatha Baptist.

The Eagles (0-3) took care of the ball while forcing the Titans (3-0) into 14 giveaways, but it wasn't enough to overcome UW-Oskkosh's 49 percent shooting, 44-27 rebounding advantage, and their 14-3 run to start the second half.

Freshman Jake Negus, who added 13 points and a team-high five boards, scored nine points to lead a balanced attack in the first half as the Eagles trailed UW-Oshkosh, 37-36, at the break. The Eagle offense turned the ball over just twice and made all eight free throws in an entertaining half where neither team led by more than five points.

UW-Oshkosh regrouped at halftime and sprinted out to a 51-39 lead and maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the way. The Titans lead grew to 71-52 with 5:23 remaining and it was enough to hold off the Eagles. Travis Kell's layup with 1:46 sliced the UW-Oshkosh lead to 11, but it was as close as they could come in the Eagles best game of the season at what could arguably be their toughest opponent of the year.

Radisevic shot 7 of 10 from the field and knocked down both free throws as part of a 13-for-15 effort (86.7 percent) by the Eagles. Negus and senior Arik Anderson, who scored a season-high 11 points, were the other double-digit scorers.

Adam Fravert posted a game-high 22 points with 15 boards and made 10 of 13 free throws to lead four Titans in double figures. As a team, UW-Oshkosh outscored the Eagles by 11 from the charity stripe and finished 24 of 32 at the line. It was the Eagles second-straight loss to an NCAA tournament qualifier after losing to Ripon in their previous game.

After a trio of tough non-conference opponents, the Eagles open up NACC play at home against Aurora this Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
