MADISON, Wis. - Against a field of many of the Midwest's top teams, the Edgewood College men's golf squad placed ninth at the Frank Wrigglesworth Blugold Invitational. The Eagles improved from a score of 325 on Sunday at Wild Ridge to 316 on Monday at the Eau Claire Country Club, but still slipped from eight to ninth place.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles received a great first day from freshman Dawson Hinz and junior Zach Hentrich. Hinz shot a 3-over par 75 on Sunday, while Hentrich fired a 79. Hinz closed out Monday with a score of 81 to finish tied for 19th place with a score of 156. Hentrich shot 80 in the second round to finish at 159.
- Transfer Michael Wiebe put together a fantastic 1-over par round of 72 on Monday at the Eau Claire Country Club, to finish tied with Hentrich at 159 over the two days.
- Jensen Peck struggled through Sunday's round, but recovered to shoot 83 on Monday for a two-day total of 177. Nathan Gilbert opened with an 84 on Sunday and finished with a score of 181.
FOR THE FOES
- Host school UW-Eau Claire won their own event with a score of 596. The Blugolds' Ryan Isaacson won individual medalist honors with an even-par score of 143.
UP NEXT
- Edgewood College will get their next big regional test on Saturday and Sunday at the Midwest Region Classic hosted by Benedictine University. The meet will played at Eagle Ridge G.C. at Galena, Ill.
