Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Nolden’s golden in thrilling overtime victory

MADISON, Wis. – Sophomore Mady Warda's two goals and game-winning assist set up sophomore Alisha Nolden's golden goal in the 104th minute to give the Edgewood College women's soccer team a 4-3 double overtime victory over North Park on Sunday.

The Eagles (3-1) won their third-straight, one-goal game in thrilling fashion despite being a woman-down due to a red card issued in the 86th minute of regulation. Nolden lobbed her first shot of the game over the outstretched hand of the Viking goalie off a deflected shot from Warda to send the Eagles to victory.

Warda was brilliant after adding her first career assist to a pair of goals that included the game-tying score in the 59th minute. It was the first multi-goal game of her career.

North Park (0-3) outshot the Eagles in the first half, 6-2, as they countered Warda's goal in the 10th minute with two of their own, including a penalty kick off an Eagle handball in the 33rd. Shortly after the half, senior Taylor Pampuch's split two defenders in the middle of the box to tie it up at two apiece with her first goal of the season off a Hannah Menzia assist. Both teams scored in the 59th to set up the final stretch.

Sophomore goalkeeper Sabelle Seabrook (3-1) recorded three saves in the win.

The Eagles have never lost to North Park and improved to 3-0-1 in the all-time series.

Next up for the Eagles is a trip to Beloit College this Tuesday, September 13 at 4:30 p.m.
