Meet Results
AURORA, Ill. – The Edgewood College men's golf team entered the final two rounds of the NACC Championships with a narrow lead, but Wisconsin Lutheran College proved too strong to hold off. The Eagles finished second to the Warriors with a score of 1,246. Nathan Gilbert and Zach Hentrich both finished in the top 10 to earn all-conference honors.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College was the most consistent team from Sunday to Monday shooting 313 the first day and 314 the next. However, Wisconsin Lutheran College shot the best round of the tournament on Sunday with a 298, giving them a 13-stroke lead heading into Monday's fourth round. The Warriors shot 313 on Monday, but it was enough to hold off the Eagles.
- Nathan Gilbert lead the championship after last fall's first two rounds, but slipped down the board after a 79 on Sunday. Gilbert bounced back nicely today with a 75, giving him 72-hole total of 303, good enough for third place and a spot on the All-NACC team.
- Zach Hentrich had a similar two days as Gilbert, shooting 78 in the third round and 76 in the fourth to finish two shots behind Gilbert with 305. For Hentrich, it was his second straight All-NACC award after placing fifth overall last year.
- Senior Kyle Bruce posted a solid 76 on Sunday, but struggled in Monday's final round to finish at 318 in 12th place overall.
- Alex Wedige saved his best round of the NACC Championships for last, shooting 79 on Monday. He placed 17th overall with a score of 323. Brooks Johnson shot 84-85 over the weekend and finished in 24th place to round out the Eagles' squad.
FOR THE FOES
- Wisconsin Lutheran College won their second consecutive NACC championship and will advance to the NCAA Division III Championships. Jacob Mortell earned NACC Player of the Year honors by finishing first with a four round total of 298.
- Runner-up Jordan Velez of Benedictine University won Freshman of the Year honors, missing individual medalist honors by one stroke at 299.
UP NEXT
- Edgewood College will conclude their 2015-16 season by hosting the Edgewood College Spring Invitational on Friday, April 29 at Bishops Bay Country Club in Middleton. The Eagles will host MSOE, UW-Stout and UW-Superior.
