MEQUON, Wis. – With NACC title hopes still on the line, the Edgewood College volleyball team was outhit, .290 to .093, in 3-0 (27-25, 25-18, 25-16) loss to undefeated Concordia Wisconsin on Tuesday night.
The Eagles (14-13, 6-3 NACC) pushed the Falcons to the limit in a competitive first set and forced match point at 24-23. The Falcons, currently the NACC's only undefeated team at 9-0 in conference play, rallied with a 4-1 run fueled by three Eagle attack errors to close out the set.
It was all Falcons (18-6, 9-0 NACC) in the final two sets as they never trailed and outhit the Eagles .256 to .048 in the second set and .294 to .000 in the third.
Junior Emily Chaussee posted a team-high 10 kills, a .241 hitting percentage, and eight digs. Freshman Grace Zimmer added a team-high 14 digs. The Eagles lost to the Falcons for just the second time in the last eight meetings and dropped into a three-way tie for third in the NACC with two conference matches remaining.
Next up for the Eagles is a trip to winless Rockford this Friday, October 21 at 7:00 p.m.
