ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Edgewood College volleyball team rolled over Rockford University to officially clinch a berth in the NACC Tournament. The Eagles didn't permit the Regents to score more than 15 points in any set, as they stayed in a tie for third place with Dominican in the NACC standings.
Head coach Paul Schlomer was able to play his entire Edgewood College (15-13, 7-3 NACC) roster. Elizabeth Evans led the Eagles with 10 kills while just playing two of the three sets. Renee Meister had six kills in nine attempts without an error for a .667 attack percentage. Erika Van Engen chipped in five kills without an error. Tori Wiskow led the Eagles front row defense with four blocks including one solo effort. Haley Schwenn had team-highs with 11 assists and eight digs. The Eagles hit .318 for the match, including a whopping .414 in the third set.
Rockford University (1-20, 0-10 NACC) received six kills from Liberty Hartman and nine digs each from Taylor Rossi, Alex Storey and McKenna Turner. The Eagles limited the Regents to an attack percentage of just .011 for the match.
Edgewood College will head into their final NACC match of the season Saturday evening against Concordia University Chicago. With a win, the Eagles will clinch a home match in the opening round of the NACC Tournament which begins on November 1.
