GREEN LAKE, Wis. – If the Edgewood College men's golf team had a message to send at the Midwest Region Classic, it was received loud and clear. The Eagles served notice that despite a tough event in Eau Claire two weeks ago, Edgewood College can still play with the best in the region. The Eagles placed second with matching rounds of 302 at the Midwest Region Classic at Lawsonia Golf Courses.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After some early season inconsistency the Eagles put together two killer rounds in a row. On Friday, every golfer on the squad shot 75 or 76 to put the Eagles in third place behind Milikin University and Carthage College.
- On Saturday, sophomore Zach Hentrich shared honors for the low round of the day with a 70. His two-day total of 145 put him third overall in the tournament.
- Nathan Gilbert recorded rounds of 76 and 74 for a total of 150, while Senior Kyle Bruce was one shot behind with a total of 151.
- Brooks Johnson placed 40th out of 167 golfers with a score of 158. Alex Wedige ensured all five Eagles in the line-up would finish in the top half of the field scoring 163.
- James Gandolph equaled Wedige's score of 163 playing as an individual.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Gilbert recorded the first ever top 10 finish of his career with his 76 and 74.
- Hentrich's 70 on Sunday matched his career low which he also shot last weekend in the Wisconsin Lutheran College Invitational.
- Edgewood College has shot identical scores of 302 in each of their last three competitive rounds.
UP NEXT
- Edgewood College has one tournament remaining before playing the first two rounds of the NACC Championships. The Eagles will travel to Lake Geneva for the MSOE Invitational next Sunday and Monday, October 4-5.
