WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Edgewood College men's golf team completed their final preparation for the second half of the NACC Championship by sharing the title at the Wisconsin Lutheran College Spring Invitational at Morningstar Golfer's Club on Saturday. The Eagles other schedule competition this weekend, the Marian University Invitational, was cancelled due to rainy conditions.

Edgewood College and host Wisconsin Lutheran College each shot 303 to tie for the tournament title. The Warriors won a scorecard tiebreaker to claim the championship. Patrick Cahill and Michael Mathwick led the way for the Eagles, with each shooting a 3-over par 75 to tie for eighth place in the field of 59 golfers. Kyle Bruce was one shot back with a 76. Kenny Rucker shot a 77 and Patrick Bohrer turned in an 82.

The Eagles will turn their attention to the third and fourth round of the NACC Championship which will be played on Monday and Tuesday, April 21-22 at Stonebridge Country Club in Aurora, Illinois. The Eagles hold a 28 shot lead over MSOE after the first two rounds played last fall at Whistling Straits. Cahill and Rucker are tied for the individual title at 148 through 36 holes. The winner of the NACC Championship receives an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Championships which will be held on May 13-16 at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro, N.C.
