MIDDLETON, Wis. – In their final tune-up for the NCAA Division III Championships later this month, the Edgewood College men's golf team hosted their own quadrangular at Bishops Bay Country Club. The Eagles placed third of four teams with a total of 304 while
Andrew Cobb finished fifth.
Cobb led the Eagles with a 74 while Kenneth Rucker followed with a 76, placing him 12th.
Logan Kranz and
Brent Quade both shot 77 to round out the squad and finish in 16th place.
Tyler Cobb and
Mike Battista were the final of the Eagles' top six as they shot 79 and 80, respectively.
Playing as individuals,
Austin Foley and
Patrick Bohrer posted scores of 82 and 83, respectively.
Michael Mathwick and
Tony Thaden also participated for the Eagles and both shot 85.
UW-Stout 's Sam Carr and Brad Wohlers shot one-under 71's to tie for first. Wohlers was named medalist due to his lower back nine score. UW-Stout won the event with a team total of 289 while UW-Eau Claire finished second with a 298. Edgewood College placed third at 304 and MSOE rounded out the tournament with a 309.
Edgewood College will close their season on May 15-18 at the NCAA Championships which will take place at Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
