ST. LOUIS, Mo.– The Edgewood College men's basketball team found their first win in style. Justin Williams tipped in the go-ahead bucket with 0.3 seconds left on the clock to give first year head coach Justin Meyer and the Eagles a narrow win over Fontbonne University 83-82.

With Edgewood College (1-2) down by a point, Williams crashed the boards hard to get in position for a tip in. The junior got a hand on the ball and touched it in the hoop with less than one second remaining to flip the score and give the Eagles a one-point advantage.

Edgewood College pulled ahead for their first lead of the night at the 14:47 mark of the first half on a jumper by Williams. The Eagles pulled ahead of the Griffins 35-30 heading into the locker room.

In the second half, Edgewood College shot lights out. The Eagles shot 16-for-21 (76.2 percent) from the floor including a perfect 8-for-8 from beyond the arc. Edgewood College used the impressive shooting display to widen their lead to seven at one point, but Fontbonne (0-3) did not give up. The Griffins pulled ahead 82-81 after Greg Gentry sank two free throws before Williams' last second basket gave the Eagles the win.

Cashton Craig provided a huge offensive boost matching his career high with 24 points for Edgewood College. The senior was 4-for-6 from three-point range and also dished out five assists. Brett Meinecke came off the bench to contribute 11 points and four rebounds and Joe Klocek had another solid game for the Eagles with 14 points and eight rebounds.

Edgewood College continues their road trip in Missouri as they face Westminster College in Fulton. The Eagles will look to build off their first win of the year. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
