WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. – The Edgewood College men's basketball team had their shots at their first win of the season during regulation time, but UW-Oshkosh made them pay for not finishing the job in overtime. The Titans outscored the Eagles 17-7 in the extra period to pull away for a 64-54 victory over the Eagles. The win gave UW-Oshkosh head coach Pat Juckem his first victory as coach of the Titans, and denied Edgewood College coach Justin Meyer his first victory at the helm of the Eagles.

The final game of the Just A Game Tipoff Tournament, featured 11 ties and 11 lead changes as Edgewood College (0-2) and UW-Oshkosh battled back and forth. After trailing 24-20 at halftime, the Eagles pushed ahead with a 10-0 run to start the second half. Brett Meinecke and Joe Klocek struck the big blows during the run, hitting back to back three-point baskets to put the Eagles ahead of the Titans 30-24. However, UW-Oshkosh scored the next nine points of the game and the see-saw battle was on.

Cashton Craig hit a three-point shot with 3:22 left to play to give the Eagles a 45-43 lead, but UW-Oshkosh leading scorer Jade Royston answered with a layup to tie the game a minute later. Justin Williams put Edgewood College back ahead with a rebound and put-back, but two free throws from UW-Oshkosh's Andre Wallace tied the game again at 47-47 with a little over a minute to play.

After the team's traded misses, Edgewood College called timeout with possession and 23 seconds on the clock. Coach Meyer put the ball in the hands of Craig, but his buzzer beating attempt missed the mark.

The overtime belonged to UW-Oshkosh (1-2). The Titans recorded a 10-2 run in the first 2:12 of overtime and the Eagles were forced to play catch-up. Two free throws from Dylan Rusch brought Edgewood College back within six at 57-51, but two free throws and a three-point play from Royston with 1:17 to go sealed the Eagles' fate.

Craig led the Eagles with 15 points, including three three-point baskets. Klocek added 11 points for his second straight double digit performance. Williams had nine points and shared top rebounding honors with Rusch at six boards apiece. The Eagles were hampered with shooting problems, hitting just 33.3 percent from the field and 54.5 percent (12-for-22) at the free throw line.

Edgewood College returns to action after the Thanksgiving holiday with a pair of games in the St. Louis, Missouri area. The Eagles will play the Griffins of Fontbonne University in St. Louis next Friday, and then travel out to Fulton, Mo. for a game against Westminster College on Saturday.
