WEST CHICAGO, Ill. – The Edgewood College men's golf team continued to make noise in the first half of the fall season with another strong performance at the Benedictine University Invitational. The Eagles shot a 304 in wet, rainy conditions to place third in the 24-team event.
Brent Quade and
Tyler Cobb both finished in the top 10 out of 127 players in the event.
Quade, who has been on fire to open the season, recorded his second top-five finish in three events. Quade shot a 1-over par 73 at St. Andrew's Golf Course to tie for third place. Cobb was just two shots behind Quade with a season-best 75 to earn a sixth place finish.
Andrew Cobb and
Mike Battista also broke 80, with
Andrew Cobb shooting a 77 and placing 20th, while Battista shot a 79.
Logan Kranz rounded out the Eagle squad with an 83.
Edgewood College will face another field stacked with the region's best teams next weekend. The Eagles will participate in the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational on September 25-26.
