HAM LAKE, Minn. – No one can ever say the Edgewood College men's golf team is afraid to challenge themselves. The Eagles entered the Augsburg College Invitational, featuring many of the regions top programs. Edgewood College finished in the top half of the 21-team tournament, placing ninth with a two-day team total of 616.
Senior
Brent Quade continued his strong start to the season, shooting a first day, even par 72 before cooling off with a 77 on day two. His total of 149 placed him in a tie for 12th overall in the 123-player field. Brothers
Tyler Cobb and
Andrew Cobb had strong showings as well. Tyler shot a pair of 76's to finish in 26th place with a score of 152. Andrew was two strokes back at 154.
Mike Battista also cracked 80 on the first day, shooting a 77, but found trouble on day two and settled for an 84 and a two-day total of 161.
Logan Kranz rounded out the team this weekend with a 169.
Edgewood College will see some Northern Athletics Conference opponents next Sunday when they play a one day event at the Benedictine Invitational. St. Andrew's Golf Course in West Chicago, Ill. is the site for the tournament.
