Eagles finish 17th at Illinois Wesleyan Invite

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – In their second meet of the spring, the Edgewood College men's golf team finished in 17th place out of 22 at the Illinois Wesleyan University Invitational. The Eagles finished with a stroke total of 670 and Andrew Gutzman led the Eagles with a two round total of 162.

Andrew Cobb turned in the Eagles' best round of the tournament when he shot a 79 on the second day. However, Cobb shot 84 on day one to make his two day total 163, which landed him in 50th place. Gutzman bested Cobb by a stroke for the Eagles' low score of the weekend as Gutzman shot 81-81 for a two day total of 162 to place 46th.

Austin Foley finished third on the team, shooting identical 86's to finish with a two day total of 172. Logan Kranz and Jeff Kaether rounded out the Eagle squad as they each shot 177. Kranz shot an 88 on day one and 89 on day two while Kaether shot 84 on the first day and followed it with a 93 on day two.

The Eagles will be in action next weekend when they play at the Ripon College Lawsonia Invitational. The meet will take place next Saturday and Sunday at the Lawsonia Golf Course in Green Lake.
