RIPON, Wis. – The Edgewood College men's golf team faced some tough competition at the Ripon College Spring Invite and sat in third place after the first day. However, got passed by a couple teams on day two and placed fifth of 16 teams, shooting 608.
Brent Quade started the meet with a 73 and followed that with an even par 72 on day two to finish in ninth place with a two day stroke total of 145. The ninth place finish marks Quade's first top-10 finish this season and sixth of his career. The 72 he shot on the second is also the lowest round of his career.
Andrew Cobb posted the next lowest score among Eagles as he posted a 76-76 to finish at 152 in 19th place.

Andrew Cobb as he shot 76-78 and placed 23rd with his total of 154.
Logan Kranz and
Andrew Gutzman rounded out the Eagles' five as they shot 159 and 160, respectively. Kranz started with a 77 on day one and followed with an 82 on the second day while Guztman shot identical 80s in both rounds.
Carthage College won the meet by 33 strokes as they shot an 18-under 588.
Tony Thaden and
Ryan McCrumb golfed as individuals and finished 19th and 41st, respectively. Thaden shot a pair of 76s and McCrumb shot 81-80 for a two day total of 161.
Next up for the Eagles is the Northern Athletics Conference Tournament Qualifier Meet next Monday and Tuesday, April 18-19. The tournament will take place at Stonebridge Country Club in Naperville, Illinois.
