Eagles sweep past Blue Angels in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Edgewood College women's volleyball team inched closer to a .500 record with a 3-0 nonconference victory over Mount Mary College in Milwaukee on Wednesday night. Ten different players recorded a kill for the Eagles in the 25-12, 25-20, 25-19 sweep of the Blue Angels.

Freshman Jessica Martin led the Eagles with team-highs in both kills and digs, ranking up eight kills and 11 digs. Colleen Myers had a strong match with seven kills and only two errors for a .217 attack percentage. Katie Wedvick, Kristin Manske and Mallory Palmer finished with four kills each.

Laura Sweeney added 10 digs of her own, while setter Lindsey Swansby handed out 25 assists. The Eagles did not commit an error in the first set, recording 10 kills and hitting .345 in the win. For the match, Edgewood College hit .189 with 35 kills.

The Eagles will be back at home for a pair of matches on Friday evening. Edgewood College will take on Alverno College at 5:30 p.m. before facing UW-Stevens Point at 7:30 p.m. Both matches can be seen live on EdgewoodCollegeEagles.com.
