MADISON, Wis. - A last minute change in venues didn't throw off the Edgewood College men's golf team too much at the Frank Wrigglesworth Blugold Classic, hosted by UW-Eau Claire. The Eagles shot a season-low, two-day total of 624 to place sixth overall. The team posted their most consistent back-to-back rounds of the year with a 313 on Sunday at Wild Ridge G.C. and a 311 on Monday at New Richmond G.C.

The heavy rains over the past week in western Wisconsin forced the tournament to be moved from the Eau Claire Golf and Country Club, but the Eagles still turned in two strong rounds. Brent Quade was the model of consistency, shooting a 77 and a 78 to place 21st out of 78 golfers.

Ryan McCrumb had the Eagles' lowest round on Sunday with a 75 and finished the tournament with a two-day total of 158 to place 36th. Andrew Cobb and Logan Kranz were just one shot behind McCrumb, shooting 159. Andrew Gutzman rounded out the team, one more shot back at 160.

Edgewood College has one more event left to prepare for the Northern Athletics Conference Championship. The Eagles will compete against most of their NAC rivals at the Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva, Wis. beginning next Sunday. The NAC Championship takes place on October 10-11 at Whistling Straits in Haven, Wis.
