Top ranked St. Thomas stops Eagles

AUBURNDALE, Fla. - The Edgewood College baseball team dropped their third straight game, falling to defending national champion and No. 1 ranked University of St. Thomas 8-1.

First baseman Tim Barry drove in the only run for the Eagles, with an RBI single driving in #Jimy Landwehr who had reached on a one-out base on balls. Eight different Eagles all had one hit each in the game, and freshman Jake Zadra recorded his first career stolen base.

Matt Krueger suffered the loss despite giving up just one earned run. Five Eagle errors led to five unearned runs for the University of St. Thomas (11-1). Krueger gave up five hits in six innings pitched before yielding to freshman Tony Ales.

Edgewood College (6-4) will face St. Olaf College on Tuesday, before getting another shot at top-ranked St. Thomas on Wednesday.
