HAM LAKE, Minn. - Facing some of the upper Midwest's best teams, the Edgewood College men's golf team shot better than 310 on each day to place seventh at the Augsburg College Fall Invitational. The Eagles fired a 307 on Saturday and then matched their season-low with a 304 on Sunday for a 611 total.
Junior Brent Quade from Monroe put up his best finish as an Eagle, placing third out of 76 golfers. Quade shot a one-over par 73 at the Majestic Oaks Golf Club the first day and followed it with a 74 on the second day. He was just three strokes behind individual medalist James Stafford of the University of St. Thomas.
Logan Kranz, Mike Battista and Mark Fields were separated by just two strokes over 36 holes. Kranz shot a 10-over par 154 to place 22nd, with Battista right behind at 155 and Fields one more shot back at 156. Aaron Gavin fired a 161 to round out the Eagles' weekend.
Edgewood College will return the links a week from Monday for the Aurora University/Benedictine University Invitational.
