MADISON, Wis. – Edgewood College had every reason to worry about the Northern Athletics Conference's leading scorer in Wisconsin Lutheran's Kyle Plath. However, it was the Warriors' other senior, Danny Behm, who torched the Eagles for a triple-double, eliminating them from the NAC Tournament, 87-74, in a quarterfinal match-up at the Todd Wehr Edgedome.

Second-seeded Edgewood College started the game hot, getting back-to-back three-pointers from Kent Faurote and Brock Bidlingmaier for an early 15-9 lead. The Eagles pushed their lead as high as eight, at 27-19 when the Warriors made the first serious run of the game.  Kyle Plath hit a three-pointer to cap a 9-0 Warrior run for a short-lived lead. The Eagles answered with a tip-in by Jeff Barczak and another three-pointer by Faurote, but the seventh-seed Warriors weren't finished with their run. Alex Merbach hit a three-which sparked a 15-3 run to end the half capped off by a pair of Ben Ziesemer three-pointers in the final minute and a half.

The Warriors then immediately made the road back steeper for the Eagles, scoring the first nine points of the second half for a 52-35 lead. Edgewood College then mounted their first comeback effort, getting consecutive baskets by Barczak, Derek Nkemnji and John Schuster to trim the Warrior lead to 57-48. Minutes later, though, a pair of deep Plath three-pointers would give the Warriors a 71-55 lead with eight minutes to play, and force the Eagles closer to desperation. A Faurote three-pointer would cut the lead back to 71-60, but from that point on it became a steady stream of free throws for the Warriors, the league's top free throw shooting team. The Eagles got as close as 10 three times in the last four minutes, but Behm hit six of eight free throws, plus a layup to seal the victory.

Behm finished the game with 22 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds for Wisconsin Lutheran (14-12), despite shooting just four-for-13 from the field. Plath finished with 18 points thanks to four three-pointers, while Sam Siemers chipped in 13. The Warriors turned the ball over just seven times compared to the Eagles' season-high total of 25.

Edgewood College (13-13) had four players in double figures, led by Barczak's double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Faurote and Ben Wisniewski each tallied 14 points, while Schuster scored 12.

The Eagles' lone senior Jon Ciche played his final game for Edgewood College scoring six points, grabbing a game-high 14 rebounds and recording four blocked shots. For Ciche, he graduates as Edgewood College's all-time leader in blocked shots with a career-total of 243, including a single season record of 77 this year. Ciche recorded at least one blocked shot in the last 27 consecutive games of his career. He also leaves as Edgewood College's all-time leader in field goal percentage having shot 59.6 percent (298-for-500) in his career, including a career-best 65.8 percent (98-for-149) this season.

The loss marks the Eagles' second straight exit in the NAC Tournament quarterfinals and their second straight 13-13 season.
