MEQUON, Wis. – Head Coach Casey Thousand's first career victory couldn't have been more sweet, a two point victory over conference foe Concordia University Wisconsin. Despite being down by 11 points at one point and not making a single field goal attempt over the final 2:45 of the game, the Eagles were able to take the 72-70 victory from the falcons.
The Falcons (2-2, 1-1 NAC) opened the contest on a 15-4 run to take an early lead just two minutes into the game. The Eagles (1-3, 1-0 NAC) fought back and went on an 8-0 run to tie the game at 23 with just under 14 minutes to play in the first frame.
The Falcons then went on another run, 10-2, to take a 33-25 lead before the Eagles once again came back to take a 38-37 lead into halftime. In the half, Brianna Droessler and Emily Decorah led the Eagles in scoring with 10 points apiece.
In the second frame, the Eagles would once again outscore Concordia Wisconsin by one point, this time 34-33 to take the game 72-70. Just like the first half, Droessler led Edgewood College in scoring, this time with 11 points. She finished with 21 points in the contest to lead both teams in scoring. Her 21 points was just two shy of her career high which was set earlier this season against Elmhurst College.
Decorah was the games second leading scorer as she poured in 12 points while Shae Beckwith added nine points. Hannah Schultz and Brittany Bylsma led the Eagles in rebounding as they pulled down eight apiece.
