Eagles can earn home playoff game this week

Tami Oilschlager

The Edgewood College women's soccer team enters the final week of the regular season in control of their own destiny for a first round home match in the NAC Tournament. The Eagles can clinch the fourth seed and open the tournament at Breese Stevens Field if they can earn at least four points (a win and a tie) in the standings this week.

In nine meetings all-time, the series between Edgewood College and Dominican University is knotted at 4-4-1. A season ago, the Eagles fell 1-0 in the regular season and tied the Stars in the conference tournament before advancing in a shootout.

Edgewood College is unbeaten in 15 meetings all-time with Maranatha Baptist as they are 14-0-1. The lone tie came in 2003. Since then the Eagles have rolled off five straight victories including a 4-0 win last year.
