EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - A stacked field of the region's top teams was sure to test the Edgewood College men's golf team at the Frank Wrigglesworth Blugold Invitational on Sunday and Monday. The young Eagles discovered they can can compete with the area's best finishing eighth of 15 teams in the event.

The Eagles were rewarded for their consistency from the first round to the second round. After Sunday's score of 319 left them in 10th place, scores rose on Monday sending some teams reeling. However, the Eagles managed to shoot a second day total of 323 and move up two spots passing both UW-Eau Claire and MSOE for eighth place.

No Eagle was more consistent than Logan Kranz who followed an opening day 79 with a 77 on Monday to finish in 17th place. Kranz's score gave the Eagles their third different player to lead the team in as many events. Mike Battista shot a team-low 75 on Sunday, but faltered in round two to finish with a two-day total of 163. Aaron Gavin and Glenn Nowell were both a shot behind at 164, while Ty Robinson rounded out the squad with a 166.

Defending national champion St. John's University overcame a three-shot UW-Stout lead after day one to claim the team title by one shot over the Blue Devils with a 607. Danny Anderson of St. Cloud State was the individual medalist, shooting a two-over par 144.
