MADISON, Wis. – It took nearly all of the Edgewood College men's soccer team's collective effort to limit Elmhurst College to just one goal. As a consequence, the Eagles struggled to mount a consistent offensive attack in falling to the Bluejays 1-0 at Breese Stevens Field.

Elmhurst College (5-0), ranked fourth in the Central region, kept the ball in the Eagles' half of the field much of the game. They finally broke through in the 38th minute when Jake Pahr slid a through ball to Jon Brehm who beat Edgewood College goalkeeper Shane Sullivan to his right for the only goal of the game.

The Eagles (2-3) managed to keep the Bluejays out of the net for the rest of the game, but failed to mount much offense. Matt Pampuch and Andriy Apetrey accounted for the Eagles only two shots on goal, both in the second half.

Sullivan made one save in the first half, while his halftime replacement Francisco Yacuta-Santana made three saves.  Elmhurst held a 13-7 advantage on shots and a 12-3 edge on corner kicks.

Edgewood College will travel to Lisle, Ill. on Saturday for their Northern Athletics Conference opener. Game time on Saturday is 2:30 p.m.
