CHICAGO, Ill. – The Edgewood University men's soccer team continued conference action at Illinois Tech on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles claimed a 1-0 win over the Scarlet Hawks. Connor Gage scored the only goal of the match in the 35th minute.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- With 34:12 on the clock, Connor Gage scored his fourth goal of the season to give Edgewood University (3-4-2, 3-1-0 NACC) a 1-0 lead going into halftime. The Eagles outshot Illinois Tech (5-4-0, 2-2-0 NACC) 5-3 in the opening 45 minutes, with Ezra Wallace making his only save of the contest to hold the Scarlet Hawks scoreless.
- In the second half, Edgewood University managed one shot, while the Scarlet Hawks took five shots. The Eagle defense did well to keep the Scarlet Hawk attack off balance in the final 45 minutes.
- Riley Kann managed two shots for the Eagles, while Ryan Hardy and Stephen Kaster each put one shot on target in the conference victory.
- Wallace took home the victory in net for the Eagles, making just one save in the shutout win.
