MADISON, Wis. – Women's Volleyball returned home to the Todd Wehr Edgedome Thursday evening. They kicked off NACC action with the Lakeland Muskies visiting town. The Eagles (9-3, 1-0 NACC) left little room for doubt in a 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-14) win over the Muskies (9-6, 0-1).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After Lakeland took the first couple of points, Edgewood University started to take over the first set. A 5-1 rally put the Eagles ahead 5-3. After the Muskies drew even at 6-6, Edgewood University stormed ahead on a 10-2 explosion. Lakeland had few answers for an Eagles offense hitting .290 in the set as they took a 1-0 lead in the match.
- Edgewood University kept surging in the second set, kicking things off with a commanding 12-3 lead and never looking back. Once again the Eagles hit .290 in the frame as they cruised to a 2-0 lead in the match.
- The Muskies hung tough early in the third set, three in a row pulling them within 7-5. The Edgewood University offense once again took over, a 5-1 rally pushing them up 16-10. Finishing strong, the Eagles put together an 8-2 sprint to close out the set and match with an exclamation point.
- Edgewood University outhit Lakeland .304-to-.048 in the match. They had a 41-to-23 advantage in kills, a 7-to-1 gap in aces, and a 6-to-1 edge in blocks.

Abbey Eivins and
Laila Rasmussen fueled the high-octane Eagles offense. Eivins posted 12 assists and three aces, while Rasmussen tallied 18 assists and a pair of aces.

Madison Amstutz kept rolling as libero, pacing the squad with nine digs.

Marina Hosticka led the way with four blocks.
Molly Amendt and
Payton Millin each had eight kills, with Amendt hitting .500 on 14 attempts and Millin .583 on 12.

Nida Zukauskaite played a pivotal role in the Edgewood University sweep, leading the way with 12 kills and adding eight digs.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Eagles have won 27 contests against NACC foes in a row dating back to the 2024 season.
- Edgewood University has been undefeated in NACC matches at the Todd Wehr Edgedome since October 15, 2022.

The Eagles will keep their busy week going as they hit the road for a non-conference tri-match Saturday. They will take on the UW-La Crosse Eagles and the Loras Duhawks in La Crosse, Wis. First serve is scheduled for noon.
