PLYMOUTH, Wis. – The Edgewood University women's soccer team final found their groove on Wednesday evening at Lakeland University. The Eagles opened conference play with a 4-1 win over the Muskies. First half goals from Riley Haertle, Aubrie Cruz, Megan Hines, and Lauren Mesa highlighted a powerful Eagle attack in the NACC opener.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood University (1-4-1, 1-0-0 NACC) scored their first goal of 2026 via a penalty kick in the ninth minute. Riley Haertle sent the penalty kick goal into the bottom right corner past the Lakeland University (1-5-0, 0-1-0 NACC) goalkeeper for an early advantage.

- The Eagles attack continued to roll in the first half, as Aubrie Cruz netted her first goal of the season, finding the bottom left corner of the net off a pass into the box from Lauren Mesa.

- Megan Hines made it 3-0 for the Eagles in the 31st minute, as a perfect pass from Riley Haertle put Hines one-on-one with a Muskie defender. Hines perfectly placed her shot into the top left corner for her first goal of the season.

- The Eagles final goal of the night came in the 34th minute, as Mesa scored her first career goal. Mesa's goal came via a pass up the middle from Haertle.

- At halftime, the Eagles led the Muskies 4-0.

- Lakeland University netted their only goal of the night in the 81st minute.

- Edgewood University led Lakeland 14-3 in shots on Wednesday evening.

TOP PERFORMERS
- Haertle led the Eagles attack with a goal and two assists.

- Mesa scored once and added an assist.
