Gage scores in draw at Falcons

RIVER FALLS, Wis. – Connor Gage scored his first goal of the 2026 season with 42 seconds remaining in regulation on Tuesday afternoon, lifting RV Edgewood University to a 2-2 draw with UW-River Falls in the season opener.  After trailing 2-0 early in the second half, the Eagles battled back with two goals to open the 2026 campaign with a tie.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Beckham Murrow found Gage on the left side of the box in the final minute, as Gage buried the equalizer to tie the contest. The Eagles fortune changed drastically in the second half, as Edgewood University (0-0-1) took nine shots after recording just one in the opening 45 minutes.

- UW-River Falls (0-0-1) opened scoring in the 26th minute when Carter Eklund found the back of the net for the Falcons first goal of 2026. Eklund added his second goal in the 54th minute to give UW-River Falls a 2-0 lead.

- Edgewood University got on the board following an own goal. An Eagle corner kick created chaos in the box, with a saved shot making its way into the back of the net off a Falcons defender for an own goal.

- A red card issued to UW-River Falls in the 66th minute opened up additional offensive opportunities for the Eagles. Through the final 24 minutes, the Eagles took five of their 10 total shots in the contest.

- Griffin Meisterheim showed confidence in net for the Eagles, making an impressive penalty kick save in the 78th minute to keep the contest within reach.
