VERONA, Wis. – The Edgewood University women's lacrosse team fell to Lake Forest College in a rematch of the 2025 NACC Tournament Final. The Foresters defeated the Eagles 16-6 in conference play on Wednesday. Kerry Costello led the Eagles attack with two goals, while Bella Braun posted double-digit saves in net.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lake Forest College (7-4, 5-0 NACC) got out to a 2-0 lead through the first four minutes on Wednesday. Edgewood University (4-9, 3-2 NACC) quickly responded with a pair of goals from Milli Shell and Paige Janicki to tie the game at two goals apiece through the first quarter.
- The Foresters scored an impressive six goals in the second quarter to control the contest. Kerry Costello scored the Eagles third goal with 31 seconds before halftime. Lake Forest led 8-3 at halftime.
- Lake Forest continued to pour on the attack in the third quarter, scoring two-straight goals to take a 10-3 lead with 11:40 left in the quarter. Costello and Malak Daoud both scored in the third quarter, but the Foresters led 11-5 going into the final quarter.
- Five goals in the final quarter from the Foresters put the game out of reach for the Eagles.
- Lake Forest led the Eagles 20-3 in draw controls on Wednesday afternoon.
TOP PERFORMERS
- Costello led the Eagles with two goals.
- Eloe scored one, dished out an assist and collected four ground balls.
- Hollen Thompson caused three turnovers and collected three ground balls.
- Bella Braun posted 13 saves in net for the Eagles.
- Daoud dished out two assists and scored once.
THE OPPOSITION
- Audrey Kroeger led the Foresters with four goals and three assists.
- Shannon Gibbons did a bit of everything for Lake Forest, scoring twice, dishing out three assists, collected nine draw controls, seven ground balls, and causing five turnovers.
- Emma Sharp scored three times and added an assist.
- Ella Maher collected six draw controls and scored twice.
- Cecilia Adams posted eight saves in net for the Foresters.
