Brown, Shell lead Eagles past Raiders on Senior Day

VERONA, Wis. – Coming into Saturday afternoon, Edgewood University and MSOE owned an identical 4-9, 3-2 NACC record. The Eagles came through victorious with a consistent offensive effort for a 16-9 victory. The Eagles celebrated the careers of two seniors – Christina Eloe and Kamryn Ibinger. With the victory, the Eagles improve their seeding opportunities for the NACC Tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Five goals in the first quarter put Edgewood University (5-9, 4-2 NACC) in the driver's seat on Saturday afternoon. MSOE (4-10, 3-3 NACC) scored first, as Maggie Sanderson found the back of the net three minutes into the game. Lauryn Brown and Milli Shell responded, combining for all five of the Eagle goals in the first quarter. Shell claimed her third goal with 21 seconds remaining in the quarter to put the Eagles up 5-1.

- The Raiders responded in the second quarter with three-straight goals to come within one of the Eagles. Edgewood University scored three times to take an 8-4 lead into halftime. Eloe and Brown netted player-up goals, while Malak Daoud scored with 3:46 left until the break, assisted by Paige Janicki.

- Janicki made her mark coming out of halftime, scoring back-to-back, the first assisted by Kailey Smith.

- MSOE posted two goals in the third quarter and three in the fourth, but it wasn't enough to slow down the Eagles. Five goals in the final 15 minutes from the Edgewood University attack solidified the win.

- The Eagle defense did well to compliment a dynamic offense on Saturday. Hollen Thompson along with double-digit saves from Bella Braun limited the 30 shots from MSOE.
