MEQUON, Wis. – Nine runs in the top of the seventh inning gave Edgewood University a game one victory over Concordia Wisconsin. The Eagles claimed a 10-5 win over the Falcons in game one, before falling 8-2 in game two.
EDGEWOOD UNIVERSITY 10, CONCORDIA WISCONSIN 5
- With three outs on the line, Edgewood University (12-15, 5-7 NACC) trailed Concordia Wisconsin (19-13, 10-6 NACC) 5-1. The Eagle couldn't be stopped in the seventh frame, stringing together six singles, three walks, and a triple to plate nine runs. A Lily Mabs sacrifice fly plated the second Eagle run of the afternoon. RBI singles from Hailie Boardman, MacKenzie Miller, and Allie Draper gave the Eagles a 6-5 lead. Savannah Radtke roped a triple to left field to clear the bases and take a 9-5 advantage. Abilina Dubree joined the hit parade, sending an RBI single to right field to plate Radtke for the 10-5 final.
- Radtke went 3-for-5 at the plate on the day, scoring twice and driving in three Eagles. Dubree, Boardman, and Miller each posted two hits in the game one win.
- Lauren Prigge earned the start in the circle, going six innings and striking out five batters. Boardman came in to shut down the Falcons in the final inning.
CONCORDIA WISCONSIN 8, EDGEWOOD UNIVERSITY 2
- Concordia Wisconsin came out swinging in the first inning of game two, scoring three runs on three hits.
- Grace Dooley posted an RBI double in the third frame to score Radtke from second base for the Eagles first run of game two.
- The Falcons responded with runs in the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth frames for an 8-1 lead through six innings.
- Edgewood University looked like they might sneak away with another seventh inning rally, loading the bases early with no outs. Falcons pitcher Faith Keiper shut things down from there, forcing the Eagles batters into ground outs for an 8-2 final.
- Jenna Shadoski led the Falcons in game two, going 3-for-4, scoring two runs and driving in two Falcons. Rylie DuVal added a solo home run for Concordia Wisconsin.
- Ariana Macias and Hailie Boardman split time in the circle for the Eagles. Boardman taking the loss, but adding two strikeouts on the day.
- Dooley went 2-for-4 in game two, driving in both Eagle runs. Radtke added a 1-for-2 performance, scoring twice.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Dooley has now reached base in 16 straight games. The mark is tied for the fifth best all-time.
