VERONA, Wis. – The Edgewood University men's lacrosse team hosted MSOE on Senior Day, Saturday. The Eagles fell 14-2 in the conference contest. Edgewood University celebrated the careers of four seniors – Zach Thomas, Zane Neville, Joseph Wojcik, and James Borgard.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (10-4, 6-2 NACC) shut out Edgewood University (2-10, 2-6 NACC) through the first three quarters on Saturday. The Raiders scored three goals in the opening quarter, before adding six goals in the second quarter to take a 9-0 lead into halftime.
- Raider goalkeeper Alex Lo continued to lock down the Eagles attack in the third quarter, while the Raiders added four more goals for a 13-0 lead going into the final quarter.
- James Borgardt broke the shutout with 4:47 left in the fourth quarter. Wyatt Heabel added the Eagles second goal of the day with just 1:10 remaining in the contest.
- MSOE did well to take advantage of extra man opportunities, going 4-for-5 at the mark.
TOP PERFORMERS
- James Borgardt did a bit of everything for the Eagles, collecting three caused turnovers, picking up two ground balls and scoring once.
- Logan Searles collected 20 saves in net.
THE OPPOSITION
- Andrew Toman led the Raiders with four goals and one assist.
- Isaac Johnston dished out a game-high five assists.
- Graden Jansen went 16-for-20 on the faceoff and added 12 ground balls.
- Alex Lo posted 13 saves in net for the Raiders.
